Who we are
Jetson is operated by Michael Ayton (ABN 66 249 914 730), trading as Jetson, based in Victoria, Australia. In this policy, "we", "us", and "Jetson" refer to this entity.
Personal information
This policy applies to personal information as defined by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) — information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether the information is true or not and whether it is recorded in a material form or not. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act.
What data we collect
When you use Jetson, we collect:
Account information: Your name and email address via Apple Sign In. We do not store your Apple ID password.
Banking data: When you connect your bank through Open Banking (CDR), we receive read-only access to your account details, balances, and transaction history. This data is provided by Fiskil, an accredited Consumer Data Right intermediary. We cannot move money, make payments, or modify your accounts in any way.
Financial profile: Information you provide during onboarding, including your income, pay frequency, savings goals, and fixed expenses.
App usage: Anonymous analytics about how you use the app (screens visited, features used, session length) via Mixpanel. This data is not linked to your banking information.
AI conversations: Messages you send to the Jetson AI companion are processed by Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Conversations are not used to train AI models.
How we use your data
We use your data to:
Calculate your daily spend number and destination date
Detect subscriptions and recurring charges
Generate spending insights and weekly summaries
Power the AI companion with context about your finances
Track challenges you participate in
Improve the app experience through anonymous analytics
How we protect your data
Banking data is accessed via the Consumer Data Right (CDR) framework, regulated by the ACCC
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure Keychain, not in plain storage
Your Jetson account is protected by Apple Sign In with biometric authentication
Our backend infrastructure is hosted on Supabase with row-level security policies
API keys and secrets are stored server-side and never included in the app
Third-party services
Jetson uses the following third-party services to operate:
Fiskil — CDR-accredited data provider for bank account and transaction access
Supabase — Backend infrastructure, authentication, and database hosting
Anthropic (Claude) — AI processing for the Jetson companion. Your conversations are processed under Anthropic's commercial API terms and are not used for model training.
RevenueCat — Subscription and payment management
Mixpanel — Anonymous app analytics
Apple — Authentication (Sign in with Apple) and payment processing (App Store)
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial data to anyone. We share data only with the third-party services listed above, and only to the extent necessary to provide the Jetson service.
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Transaction data is cached on your device and refreshed periodically from your bank via Fiskil. If you delete your account, we will delete all associated data from our servers within 30 days.
Your rights
You can:
Disconnect your bank at any time through the Fiskil consent dashboard or by revoking consent in the app
Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at mick@jetson.money
Request a copy of your data by contacting us
Withdraw CDR consent at any time, which will stop Jetson from accessing your banking data
AI data handling
When you use the Jetson AI companion, the following data is shared with Anthropic (Claude) to generate responses: transaction descriptions, transaction categories, transaction amounts, your spending summaries, goal progress, and your message text. We do not share your full name, email address, bank account numbers, BSB, or login credentials with Anthropic. Your conversations are processed under Anthropic's commercial API terms and are not used to train AI models.
Device and diagnostic data
When you use the Jetson iOS app, we may collect device information (device model, iOS version, app version) and diagnostic data (crash logs, performance metrics) to maintain security and improve the app. This data is not linked to your banking information.
Overseas data transfers
Some of our third-party service providers are located outside Australia, primarily in the United States. This includes Supabase (backend hosting), Anthropic (AI processing), RevenueCat (subscription management), and Mixpanel (analytics). Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. These providers maintain data protection practices substantially similar to Australian Privacy Principles. By using Jetson, you consent to these transfers.
Data breach notification
In the event of unauthorised access to your personal or financial data, we will notify you and provide relevant details about the breach in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We will also notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required.
Access and correction
Under Australian Privacy Principles 12 and 13, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections if it is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. To make a request, contact us at mick@jetson.money.
Complaints
If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal information, please contact us at mick@jetson.money. We will investigate your complaint and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Children's privacy
Jetson is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will delete that information promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of Jetson after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
